External email subscribers

Hello.

I’ve recently returned to my old wordpress blog which I started in 2011. Last logged in around 2019/2020.

I have roughly 2,000 internal wordpress subscribers, and 2,000 external email subscribers. I used a sign me up widget for people to subscribe for both.

However, since re-engaging with my blog, I’ve discovered that my outside email subscribers no longer receive email updates for new posts. I set up a new separate email address and tested the Sign Me Up widget on my wordpress page but no email has arrived.

I can’t for the life of me figure out how to reactivate my email subscriptions.

Can anyone suggest / help / advice? I would be very grateful for help.
