• I was a bit hesitant on installing it at first—a lot of my websites (using the Divi Theme) are currently on SiteGround and use the SG Optimizer plugin. I installed this plugin and tested the site speed before/after on GT Metrix, and it increased the grade one whole letter!

I do have to say that the settings/layout were a bit overwhelming and confusing, and I thought I would have to poke around a lot, but I just installed it and kept the settings as-is.

    Thank you!

@kayliparks thanks for your review! I hope you used “Test Mode” so your visitors won’t be affected by any undesirable change while you went through the trial and error process.

As for unused CSS and JS files, it looks like there are still files on your website (the one from your WordPress.org profile) that could be unloaded and boost the page speed score even further, including:
    – /wp-content/plugins/monarch/css/style.css
    – /wp-includes/css/dashicons.min.css
    – /wp-includes/css/dist/block-library/style.min.css
    – /wp-includes/js/wp-emoji-release.min.js (just unload Emojis and this file will not load anymore)

As for /wp-content/themes/Divi/style.css which is the largest CSS file, it’s only used around 5% and technically, you could load an alternative version of the file for the homepage, which would trim a lot of KB, and boost the page speed even more, but you will have to think if it’s really worth the time of going through the CSS and strip some of the unused ones. Here’s a post about it: https://www.assetcleanup.com/docs/how-to-load-an-alternative-lighter-version-of-a-file/
