• Sorry for the repost, but I am completely stumped.

I am writing the blog for a company and I have used WordPress personally for a while.

I updated June 1st with no problem, but when I went to update on Thursday, my post didn’t post. When I went to the site, all posts were gone and the page did not exist.

I am personally unable to mess with the WordPress or hosting settings, but does anyone know what happened or how we can fix it? It might be a billing issue, but how do we fix that?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Probably messed up the permalinks in which case you do need admin rights or access to reset the permalinks.

Thanks- I do have admin rights to the blog, but no one touched anything- I am the only person who uses the blog. It is hosted by Lunarpages. No one logs into the blog, but I did start using Windows Live. Still all the posts are gone, not one is there.

Well go to Settings->Permalinks, change your permalinks structure, reset to default, and Save Settings.

Then check if site works. Also pick one post you expect to see on the site and check it has a category associated with it.

I did that, and it has the same problem. All categories redirect to the main site. And thanks for the advice, I do appreciate it. πŸ™‚

(I checked by setting it then to a different permalink structure, and the error changed to 404- not found- when I reset it to default, I got the original error message.)

Test posts are also not being saved or posted, they just go through and don’t show up, even on my WP admin page. Thanks again!

Have you got any redirects set up in .htaccess file?

Also try going to Manage->Posts and pick a post that is published, and click on “Published” link, that should attempt to display the post (not edit mode)

There are no posts, none saved, and none will “take”- I can’t save or publish even though it looks like I can.

Do I need access to the webhost, or just WP? Thanks again. πŸ™‚

Just WP I would have said.
Think you will need a second eye on this – are you on some messenger?

It’s counting the posts and kept the categories, but this is what I see:

I’m misskissyboots on yahoo. Shut up, it’s from Teen Girl Squad!

I think your site database is messed up then. The posts are deleted completed but the counts might be wrong.

Is that a problem I need to fix through Lunarpages? I didn’t set up the blog so I am tinkering. I appreciate the help πŸ™‚

The picture you sent shows the counts for the shopping category as 4, but its showing no posts to manage.
That would suggest that the database either has disassociated the posts from the categories or the posts are completely deleted.

Have you or someone been playing with the database?

Lunarpages wont help you with this – its not responsibility, its as though whoever on your behalf manages the Lunarpages account/database, has messed something up somewhere. I am online on messenger if you care to talk via messenger.

I’m not sure how but my posts manage screen is showing 0 posts and categories. Also when I create a new post and select the category its blank. Example : I have to name the category destination “news” then I click add category… now my news sections appear but when I publish the post its not there.
    Here’s 2 screenshots
