Events-Page

Hi ,
I am trying to make a wp event webpage …
I want to display news & event on my slideshow or in different slideshows.
First i installed this theme : http://templatic.com/demos/?theme=events
But its slideshow didnt show me the other posts except the events.
Please can you tell me another theme or suggest me using a plugin where i can put the events on the slideshow with some news in a different category , or news in another slideshow and events in another ….???
p.s. I found a plugin “Eventify (TM)” but there was no calendar display as a widget for this plugin ……
