Events Manager (free version) issues

I have searched high and low for someone else with this issue. I have Events Manager installed in my Buddypress/Wordpress site and I have gone through all the settings of EventsManager to ensure that any user can submit an event. There are a few issues though.

There is no add new event or equivalent button on the events page. Also, if you click on “events” in a user’s profile, it takes you to the homepage of the website instead of their events.

Unfortunately my client doesn’t want the site released until it is ready to be released so I can’t share a link. I would appreciate it if you could help me without giving me flak for that detail. Thanks in advance.
