Events Links Not Working
-
The links under ¨VENUE¨ in my website stopped working. They now look like this (not a link, a code):
Venue
The Fridge
516 1/2 8th Street SE, Washington, DC 20003 United States
+ Google Map
Website:
< a href = “http://www.thefridgedc.com/”> http://www.thefridgedc.com/

I have the same issue after I updated to the latest version of this plugin. Would be glad if you could fix this bug within the next days.
I’m having the same issue.
Same here.
Happy I am not alone…
with the last version of the PRO plugin
Same problem here…
If you are comfortable doing so (found this not my own work):
This worked for me. Thank you srfrmac87
+ me
Thanks for the workaround from srfrmac87 above, but can the plugin author fix this? It is a definate bug, I get it in the venues website field. Maybe other places, not had a deep look yet.
views/modules/meta/venues.php, line #38,
esc_html_e($website)should probably be just_e($website)or some other form of that? But notesc_htmlis the point here.**Update:
Also, since we can now see the link code,
target="self"will open in a new window, which I actually prefer (is this an option?), but anyhows the target should be_self??Hi everyone,
Thanks for posting. We just released a hotfix to correct this issue. Please update The Events Calendar to 3.6.1. If your issue persists after you update, please let us know. Thanks for your patience and understanding while we got that fixed!
Best,
LeahStill same error. “Page not found”. It even doesn’t publish the event to the list or whatsoever.
For me it’s fine. Zhanks leahkoerper.
It works!
Hi kakashimateo,
I believe you’re having a separate issue not related to the venue website. It sounds like you’re having trouble with 404s. This can happen after another plugin (or sometimes even a theme) adds its own custom rewrite rules, effectively confusing WordPress and stopping it from finding resources like events pages.
The quickest possible path to a solution is simply to flush your rewrite rules: this is as easy as visiting the Permalinks Settings admin screen: you need change nothing, just visiting this screen makes WordPress clear up its list of rules.
If that doesn’t work by itself then the best course of action is to follow our standard troubleshooting steps: start by ensuring your events plugins are up-to-date. Next, deactivate all other plugins and, switch to a default and unmodified theme – such as Twenty Thirteen. Finally, repeat the above step for flushing the rewrite rules – then check again and see if your events pages are accessible.
If the above doesn’t help, please start a new thread and we will do our best to help.
Best,
LeahDear leahkoerper,
Sorry for late answer. Had a Festival undergoing and its been a busy week. Finally got a moment to write back.
I have followed your idea about Permalinks and it worked out so far and pages are viewable. However events widget does not show any incoming events. Any idea?
Hi kakashimateo,
That’s not a known issue, so I suspect it has something to do with your theme or a plugin interferring. Have you tried deactivating other plugins to look for a conflict, or switching to a default theme like Twenty Twelve? If you need help, please read this guide to testing for conflicts.
If you can isolate this as an issue that’s inherent to The Events Calendar, we’d be happy to look into it further (in a fresh thread please). Unfortunately, we can’t help troubleshoot conflicts here on the free forum. If you do find a conflict, you can try getting in touch with the developer of the theme or plugin and see if they can shed some light on the issue.
Best,
Leah
