I am using this Events Calendar on a few of my websites, and I noticed that the Events will not disappear and will stay on the website. Is there a way that they can automatically be deleted or does this need to be done manually?

Yes, events do not automatically delete. Any events (for example, past events) that you no longer desire have to be manually deleted.
