After updating to WordPress 4.8 and the latest version of BackWPup, backup of the database fails. After connecting to to local database, the job gets an ERROR: Error while writing file. After 6 such tries and errors, the job aborts.

Hi @donnajanke, make sure your file permissions weren’t altered while upgrading. wp-content/uploads should be writable, as well as all directories underneath that.

I ran the backup again today and it worked. I always select tar GZip for archive format. In the jobs which failed, I hadn’t selected any specific compression under the db option. Today I did and selected GZip compression under database. I don’t know if that made a difference or not. I had also alerted my host of the issue and it is possible he noticed the permission issue and corrected it.
