• Error updating plugins: «The old version has not been moved to the Upgrade-Temp-backup directory».

I have contacted my server and he told me that he does not know what he is and looking on the Internet … (?)

I have tried to deactivate the plugins and re -install and activate them … but when there is some update the same thing happens again, giving me the error same.

    Can anyone help me?

  • Hello @silvano-baztan

This issue usually happens when there is a permission issue with your Upgrade-Temp-backup folder in your WordPress installation directory.

Since you mentioned it not the first time, you need to make sure that the directory is using 755 permission, if you don’t know how to check that its better to ask your hosting provider to fix the directory permissions for all WordPress directories, including the Upgrade-Temp-backup directory.

The correct location for the folder is at /wp-content/upgrade-temp-backup

    Best Regards

    Hi Amin.

Sorry for the delay in replying. I’ve been away.

I contacted the hosting provider, but they ignored me. They told me to look it up online… I’m completely disappointed. I’ve decided to switch providers because their handling of this situation doesn’t inspire any confidence.

We’ll see what happens after the change.

    Thanks for your reply.
