• I’m getting these two error messages when I access the admin page of my WordPress blog (embedded in my website):

Warning: An unexpected error occurred. Something may be wrong with WordPress.org or this server’s configuration. If you continue to have problems, please try the support forums. (WordPress could not establish a secure connection to WordPress.org. Please contact your server administrator.) in /home/klein10/public_html/Blog/wp-includes/update.php on line 295

I’m using the Twenty Twelve theme, if that matters, with a few minor color changes.

Can anyone shed light on this? I’ve been having massive slowdown problems on the entire website since my service provider moved my site to a new server, so this may be a byproduct of that, but perhaps you can tell me what I might try to fix it.Thanks.

  • Try deactivating all plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the Twenty Fourteen theme to rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).
