Why is this coming up when I haven’t changed anything from when I set things up a couple weeks ago? I read another post that said to de-activate and then re-activate all plugins. I did that once the site came back up. but it keeps happening! hungryforlaughs.com

This is not good. Why is this acceptable to people. If everything works once and I don’t change plugin or other settings then it shouldn’t be up to me to add code as I’ve seen suggested. Why anyone would be messing with the actual code is beyond me. That should not be a fix. WordPress should be responsible for fixing it.

Why does this happen all of a sudden?

    Thanks!

I have no idea how to do that. And what am I checking for? What should the correct configuration look like?
    Thanks

This has absolutely nothing to do with WordPress. If your wp-config.php file is being changed – or your database details are being changed on the host – talk to the host.

how do I access the wp-config.php file if I can’t access my dashboard?

If I change password on my host site, shouldn’t it automatically update everywhere where it needs to? I have a message saying it was also updated on host and ftp and such

See Filezilla and FTP Clients « WordPress Codex. Or use your web host’s file manager in your control panel.

    Absolutely not.

You’re also talking about your password for the host Cpanel and/or FTP, not the database password. They are completely different.

I have not changed my database password. I changed my password to log into my host website portal and also the Cpanel password.

the host site just confirmed it’s their issue!

I would have no idea how to change my database password. I do not remember setting one to begin with. I suspect it’s something that is automatically done when I installed WordPress on the host site. Am I correct?

Only if you used the webhost’s automatic WordPress installer, which it sounds like you may have.

Yes, I used the automatic WordPress installer. The site is working now. The hosting site sent me an email to tell me it works on their end and I should clear my cache. It’s upsetting because they didn’t acknowledge that it was their issue in the email.
