• Hi guys,

We’ve recently launched a website that uses the WPML plugin to allow a Chinese version of our website. When trying to edit Chinese pages in the CMS, we constantly receive “Error 508 – Resource Limit Reached.”

We have gone direct to the WPML support team but they can’t reproduce the issue at their end and therefore can’t figure out the solution.

Our own Devs determined that the WPML plugin must be pulling too many resources such as CPU but after working with our web hosts on altering server settings, we are still not able to resolve the problem.

I’m wondering if the issue is related to the compatibility between WPML and WordPress? We’re desperate to resolve this issue but have no idea how to proceed now.

    Thanks in advance.
    Chelsea.

From the above link, please identify exactly which plugin you are using and then post in that plugin’s dedicated forum via its page so the plugin’s developers and support community can help you with this.

If you are using a commercial version of the plugin, then please contact the author directly on their site for support. We feel they are best equipped to support their products. Forum volunteers are not given access to commercial products, so they would not know why it is not working properly. Commercial products are not supported in these forums.

WPML is a pretty resource-heavy plugin, and it does normally need soemthing more than a standard hsared hosting account to run it well.

Having said that, your hosting company should be able to tell you what resources are being exhausted. If not it might be worth investigating other options. Once they can tell you what is being used up, you can look into changes to fix that. It migth also be worth taking to the WPML people as they’ll have a lot more experience with these sort of problems than anyone here will.
