Error 500 Can't Log In

    I’m trying to connect with filezilla using the host as ftp://decari.org/wp-login.php. And it keeps trying to connect, but then says connection timed out after a few seconds.

    Try asking your hosts for assistance with your FTP login details.

    I went into Godaddy but it doesn’t have any hosting information. I wasn’t the person who initially set this up, but it looks like we just have a domain name through them and that the site is hosted on WordPress I would assume

    If this was a wordpress.com site, then you would not be able to edit the theme’s template files via the Appearance -> Editor or install/uninstall any plugins. You need to find out where the site is hosted.

    Okay so what if I can’t figure out the host and I can’t log-in through Filezilla. Is there another way that I can log-in?

    It looks like it’s connecting, and the connection is established but then it won’t actually connectL

    I’m an admin of the site (Rhode Island DECA) and am currently responsible for it. It was created first in WordPress, then we bought the domain name from GoDaddy.. that’s all I know because I took this over. I’ve downloaded WordPress to my computer – I can adjust the files butI can’t connect via FileZilla to upload them so I’m not sure where the error is and how to adjust it differently.

    You need to find out who you are paying to host the site if that’s not Godaddy.

    Ok so I was able to get the host information and I have logged into my site using Filezilla. However, I can’t update any of the files. I’ve tried copying the files from WordPress into Filezilla, but it won’t let me paste anything. Do I need to convert the files to a different format? What files should I be update to reset the settings?
