• I could not upload pictures. Tested with my banner and now my banner occupies my wp-admin. I have now lost all functionality for writing, managing etc posts. I would be grateful for help on this as I am new to WP and can no longer use it.

Thanks pundit, yes the pictures are a problem but at the moment the least of my problems becuase I’ve lost all functionality in the admin panel (dashboard)

The red X picture is one of the problems I was trying to sort out when the banner “ate” my dashboard.

When I get my dashboard back I can go back to sorting out the pictures which are refusing to upload in WP. The other piX i the blog all come from Blogger.

I used blogger to import old posts and WP to write a few, although the top swimming post was done in blogger.

Your banner is in the admin panel correct?

If so, did you close everything off right?

Did you close the a href=”” etc?

Thanks pundit, Sambol sorted it for me. I had an wp-admin folder inside my wp-admin folder.

BUT none of the icons on my “write post” work. They all produce error on page. And when the page loads, it does so “with errors on page”

The error for all the icons leads to wp-admin post-new.php.
Also, I can upload pictures but can’t send to editor. This produces error on wp-admin upload.php

Is there any hope for me?>??

    Hi,
I tested your admin links while I was there and they were working for me. I use FF.
Send me your blog info again (sorry I don’t keep that stuff) and I’ll look at it in IE to see if I can figure that out.

    Done Sambol

Still working this. Sambol gets it to work from his end but I get errors every time my curser touches the page. I’ve updated my java and tried to 777 the new post and upload files which are in error but nothing. The only thing that publishes is the headline, no content, no pictures. Everything worked on Thursday.

How did you get the wp-admin folder inside the wp-admin folder though? Did you install WordPress yourself or was it part of a free-install package from your webhost?

IT was a free install by the host and it worked at first, I updated to 2.1.2 myself follwoing instructions to the letter.

Now, I’ve now lost all my previous posts which are backed up on a blogspot so not a disaster. (Following instructions here I didn’t touch wp-content folder in upgrade)

I’m completely baffled and at a loss. Everything is an error and I haven’t a clue as to what I should do next. The only functionality I have now is posting headlines. Nothing else works. But strangely it works for Sambol who has been working on this with me.

Just start going through wp-includes js tinymce and upgrading permissions to 666 all files. Not sure which one did it, but managed to get one pic posted but then all others failed. Back to error message so no more pictures can be put on blog

Now, I don’t get an error in “write post” anymore but I’ve lost my wysiwyg – only interface is code which isn’t ideal.

So slowly getting there, but far from home free.
All feedback thus far has been bafflement.

Also how do you delete posts. I keep deleting in manage posts but they don’t go away. All test posts remain on blog. http://www.giftedtypist.com

Old posts show up in manage but don’t show up on blog

Do I have a bug or something?
