entering admin gives header errors

    the site looks ok, but hen I go to the admin area, I get these errors, how can I get rid of them so I can edit my site?

    hi

    in your wp-config.php file in the WordPress root directory, there is probably one or more characters or spaces or a line break either before the opening php tag <?php or after the closing php tag ?>

    Remove them, save, upload, and try again.
