    Is it possible to display a video in the home slider?
    I tried this: Appearance – Homeslider – Choose a homeslider: Video
    Video embed code: [kad_youtube url=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1dyoxd1c8OE” width=1000 height=700 ]

    This doesn’t display a video, it just shows the embed code
    What is the correct way of doing this?
    Is it also possible with a video from the media library?

    Hey,
    So you’re pasting a shortcode, you need to be pasting the embedded code. For youtube videos if you click Share under the video you should see an Embed tab. Copy that and paste it into the Theme Options > Home Slider.
    There isn’t a built in way to add sliders to a gallery. You would be best to use a shortcode like the one you pasted above.

    Is it also possible with a video from the media library? – Yes you can use the same code that you get when you add to a page.

    Just note that self hosting makes for a long load time.
