Hello,
Is there a way to send an email confirmation to the customer after a order is placed? At this time we do not want or need the customer to log in to create an account.

If you have user email user field active on your store – email will send to this address.

Sure, why not? Please check this link http://docs.readyshoppingcart.com/user-fileds/, section is located on admin area -> Ready! Options -> User Fields tab.

We do have that set but the users are not getting the confirmation emails. here is what we have selected:

Edit Userfields

Label:
Html Type: text
Value Type: text numeric
Default Value: select
Params:
Destination: registration shipping billing
Mandatory: check
Active: check

To use email – you can just activate standard email field.
