    Hi everyone,

First thanks for the help on the last question I had. It worked:o)

    O.K. Here’s my question.

    Q) I’m trying to add a link and image to my sidebar and when I went to the: “Presentation” tab and then selected “theme editor” and finally picked the file I wanted to edit which was the “sidebar.php” I get the following message (If this file were writable you could edit it.) below the text block while the “update” button disappears at the same time.

I need to know how to get the file to where I can edit it and hit the update button and be done with it. But I can’t seem to find anything that will turn the lock off on this.

    Any suggestions?

  • Open up your FTP program
    Go to public_html/wp-content/themes/THEMENAME/sidebar.php

Replace themename with your themes name (if it’s kubrick, it’s default, if it’s classical, classic.) You can find this out by hovering over “sidebar” in Theme Editor and looking below the content to the Done bar in Firefox and before &themename=THEMENAME it says THEMENAME/sidebar.php.

Right click it, hit CHMOD or Properties and set Chmod to 666.

    Please help,
I must be blind, because I cannot find a “presentation”, or a “design” tab anywhere on my dashboard! Apparently, this is what I need, to be able to design my sidebar. I would so love to design my sidebar, but cannot find access to it by any means.
    Can you help me?
    Thanks,
    Lisa
