Editing Templates/ Meta Removing

Hello,

My current issue is to remove the “Meta” from my side bar.
From what I’ve read from prior post, I’m suppose to:

login to your admin interface
go the the “Presentation” tab>then the “Theme Editor” sub-tab.
select the template “side bar”.
Then, find the section of that template which has <li id=”meta”> and
Enclose it in the comments like this:
<!– –>

But when I do this, how the heck do I save? Below the editor is says “If this file were writable you could edit it.”
