Edit css?

Hello and thank you for your plugin, I have been trying to edit the width of the #flag element.
I tried both in my style sheet with:

#google_language_translator #flags{
width:200px;
}

and

#flags{
width:200px;
}

and also tried to use the css box in the plugin istelf. was wondering what i might be doing wrong?
