• I’m considering moving our movie webstore from Cubecart to WordPress. Any suggestions as to how to do this? I see there are cart to WP plugins, any recommendations? And is WooCommerce the best way to go?

  • Suggest that you setup your own trial site on either a subdomain or a different domain. Do a product migration to it.
WooCommerce is very popular for a reason, certainly worth trying.
With your own trial site you can test and experiment. When you have learned enough you can either use the “moving WordPress” procedures to take your site live, or use what you have learned and redevelop a site but without any diversions or changes of mind.

Thanks Ross. We don’t have too many products, so migration would be relatively simple. Would all the customers also be migrated?

    Is the WooCommerce option free?

Woocommerce itself is free, some plugins such as a postage calculator require a subscription, same for some payment gateways.
Some import / migration packages do migrate customers, otherwise you can export them and import them as a CSV list, there is a CSV user import plugin.
