    Hello,
First of all thank you for a great plugin. If we get this working I give you my word we will be happy to donate, we have been working on a solutions for a month and this is great option.

    Now our problems:

We can setup the plugin, see the settings, link the short code to the GF from and get it displayed and populated with date from our DB.

But when we click update the post it just makes a duplicate entry with a URL /[whatever]-2

We would expect that it should update the current Data…

The other problem is we have the newest available version of GF – gravity forms 1.8.19. We could not update, but we did follow your recommendation and updated manually the fields you have mentioned. Where did you find to download/update the gravity forms 1.8.19.2 OR higher? (The official website states that the newest version is gravity forms 1.8.19)

The last question is about the edit with images? We use single image upload function for featured post and internal page posts. When we click edit, we get the fields populated, but we do not get the images for the internal page post. Is it supported (will be supported) or it’s an issue on our side?

Thank you and keep up the great work!

Hello and thank you for your interest in this plugin. Sorry for the late reply.

Unfortunately, there is no support (yet) for using this plugin to update posts, only Gravity Form entries. However, since you seem to need it, I will put it on top of the todo list for the next release. The same goes for the image field.

If you leave your email address here I can send you a beta version to try out before the official update.

Regarding the Gravity Forms version: The latest version is always listed here: http://www.gravityhelp.com/downloads/ (you need to be logged in).

    Thank you very much!

Some questions more if you don’t mind. Could you please clarify the: “way to list, edit and delete submissions on the front-end..” What is the “Flow” of the edit function, because, maybe, we are just getting lost in translation here. We believe it works the following way:

Click Edit > Load relevant form > Prefill the fields with post data from DB > User does editing > Click Submit > Override current post DB values. (Post ID stays the same, DB data is changed).

    What we experienced was:

Click Edit > Load relevant form > Prefill the fields with post data from DB > User does editing > Click Submit > New identical post created besides the old one. (Is it a bug, or the functionally of “Edit” is intended to be this way?)

If you answer this, maybe it will be a good hint for other people looking for the same functionality.

Additionally we have found some bugs:
After activation we get this warning:

The following plugins might cause (open graph) issues with Yoast WordPress SEO: Easy Facebook Share Thumbnail, Facebook Featured Image and Open Graph Meta Tags, Facebook Thumb Fixer

    Also:
When we activate the plugin, when entering individual GF Form settings > Confirmations > Choosing confirmation > We get (Warning: array_map(): Argument #2 should be an array in H:\root\…\wp-content\plugins\gravityforms\form_settings.php on line 1010

    Same with notifications:
GF Form settings > Notifications > Choosing Notification > We get (Warning: array_map(): Argument #2 should be an array in H:\root\home\…\wp-content\plugins\gravityforms\notification.php on line 376)

Sorry, maybe this is not a good place to post bugs, if you want them submitted other way, just let me know. Other than that, I would like to know the “Edit” function clarification.

    Thank You!

Hi again! First off, it’s fine to submit bugs here but if you prefer you could post an issue on the plugins Github page. The Github repo also contains detailed comments on almost every line of code.

Sticky List main focus is for viewing, editing and deleting Gravity Form entries (form submissions). When a form is submitted the entry is stored in the DB. Those entries are not necessarily connected to a WordPress post, and can be anything from contact form submissions to product orders.

If you connect a form to a post (by using the post fields) a WordPress post is created when the form is submitted. When editing a form that is connected to a WordPress post the entry is updated but not the WordPress post. This is, as you have shown, quite confusing and will be fixed in the next version of this plugin.

Regarding the bugs/warnings; thanks for sharing. Would it be possible for you to post some screen shots showing the them?

Also, what version of gravity forms are you running? The latest is now 1.8.20.

I’ve seen you have fixed the nasty bug ! Great Job, I guess you don’t need the screenshot then πŸ™‚ We have updated to the 1.8.20 as you have mentioned.

It would be amazing if you could get the functionally going. We are starting a community project http://www.emigrantai.dk, that allows front end registration and posting of services. People doing stuff to other people within the community. Because we want to make this as a catalog of service providers, we are limiting the post to 1 service post per user account. Thus it’s very important that the user could update and edit their service post from the front end, because the post will have reviews, comments and ratings. That’s why we are looking for a way to allow users to add stuff, edit stuff, upload new photos and so on to the page.

Now when you know what we are going for. Any potential frame for the plugin? And are you a freelancer for hire? πŸ™‚

    (@fried_eggz)

Yes! Thanks for posting it. Nasty little f*cker that bug πŸ™‚

Unfortunately I dont have time for any freelance work atm but I’m working on the plugin daily (as you might have notice there is yet another maintenance release out, 1.0.6).

Regarding your project. You could try my other plugin, Sticky From, that allows for submitted entries to be updated.

The time frame for the new version (with post updates and (hopefully) image field) is about one week.

    Plugin Author fried_eggz

    (@fried_eggz)

I have implemented the functionality to update and delete posts. I have now started work on the image field. If you want I can send you a beta with the new feature (by email).

The next official release will be 1.1 which will include both features (update/delete posts and image field).

    Thread Starter MantasM

    (@mantasm)

Man that sounds amazing. Please send it to me on mantas@wackysolutions.com, otherwise if it will take you less than a week to finish the 1.1, we can wait. We have made our own custom update, but it applies only to the main post form. So we are hanging, but very anxious to see your work.

    (@fried_eggz)

I have now added support for the image field (and some other stuff, see changelog) and released a new version (1.0.9).

The functionality to update and delete posts are also added (since 1.0.7).
