    Hi,
    Afther trying out different RSS-Syndication-Plugins I find yours the best for my need, because it is the most simple…
    …out of the fact it creates duplicated posts like crazy, not only one, even 2 or 3 post at time.

    I tryed to find plugin for duplicated posts as you suggested, I didn’t find on which was really good (e.g. I’m using custom post types).

    One first easy solution could be to limit the date for the imported feeds for today, so it would limit the duplicates.

    And I found this thread, which decsribes your methode of preventing duplicates using custom fields – for e.g. it says

    (count($posts) < 0) dosn’t work, better to use (empty($posts)) – and other methods. I tryed to change that, broke the plugin.

    Ok, got it.

    Thank you very much for the kind words and the head up. I’m not yet sure why this seems to happen with some wordpress installation but will check it and investigate. The problem right now was, I couldn’t replicate the issue, so will check with your link and follow up with you.

    Just a short head up, we’ve released the version 2.0.5 with a bunch of fixed suggested by one of our active members here, we will look into this now and see how to solve this.

    Ich kann den den Fehler Leider nicht reproduzieren, anders ausgedrückt: Ich kann es schlichtweg nicht finden, vielleicht magst du mir deine Feeds per email oder chat mitteilen, dann würde Ich mit denen testen.

    Hi Berufebilder, do you happen to have “Make Feed to Post” plugin installed?

    Just in case this could help. I noticed that Berufebilder mentioned that she used multiple plugins to test RSS importing. This resembled me my situation. At one of my installs I experimented with many RSS plugins until I have chosen RSS Post Importer. However, after seemingly uninstalling others, I experienced the same problem of crazy number of duplicate postings of the same RSS articles. Whatever I tried – nothing helped. My last resort was to uninstall the RSS Post Importer on that site. But guess what? Even this did not help. The articles was duplicating like crazy on behalf of user “guest”. Then I went through all my other plugins and found out that this was caused not by RSS Post Importer but another RSS plugin (namely Make Feed to Post) that I forgot to uninstall. So the bottom line of this case is that quite often certain problems could be caused by 3rd party software and we need to check thoroughly that we actually eliminated all external factors that may be affecting the wrong behaviour we see.

    I understand that Berufebilder’s situation could probably different but checking that all other RSS or auto-posting plugins are deactivated would be a good starting point for everyone experiencing problems with RSS Post Importer.

    BTW, if this does not help, try Fix Duplicates (unless you already tried). It detects and deletes all duplicate posts pretty effectively.
