Duplicate product

Hi,
I’ve created a custom field, but when I select a product 2 times, and I set the same value, in cart I see only one item with double price. This is correct, but it creates a conflict with a plugin that I use to apply discounts. Is it possibile to change it, so that it shows 2 items whit the same price and custom field value?
