    Can you try deactivating plugins to explore whether any could be responsible?

    Well that is weird… the background for that is actually the Banner Background option in the theme settings. So you have yours set to white which is changing the submenu background bottom part that you are referring to. So if you were to change the Banner background setting, this will affect the part you are seeing.
