• Every time my client posts something like $179,000, it ends up appearing like 9,000 in the post. The only workaround I’ve been able to find is to hard code the dollar symbol and follow it with a space before any numbers. We don’t really like the look of this and would like to find a fix so that the hard coding isn’t necessary.

    Much thanks,

    Alicia

    you are being paid? 🙂

what you’ve done looks like a pretty good fix to me. You might want to debug the posting function, and tweak the PHP some. It might just need a regex or a switch, or something else.

    😛

As you can see on my vanilla install, dollar signs show up just fine.

Granted thats a 2.2 install, but Ive a 2.1.x and a 2.0.x that look like that as well.

Check the plugins you are using. Check the version of PHP being used on the box. Check the MySQL encoding. etc., etc, etc.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I am being paid. A number of my clients want blogs integrated into already existing websites. I’ve done this by creating a custom theme that makes it appear that the blog is simply another page in the site. This seems to be causing the dollar sign issue, but now I’ve got a second client having the problem and still haven’t been able to figure it out.

I dont know — ^^ thats 2.2.1 (patched for security issues) thats even on another host and im still not having trouble.

Check the plugins, theme, php settings, etc.. — like I suggested.
