Doesn't load my 404 page
-
Updated to 2.0 and the plug in doesn’t direct to my specified page, just shows the inbox 404 page. I had to roll back to 1.4

Sorry to hear that. Can you please post a link to your site?
Thank you
I love this plugin but I have the same problem on my 2 sites:
WordPress 4.4.2 running Responsive II Child Theme theme.
http://www.creativechoices.co.nz
WordPress 4.4.2 running Responsive Child Theme theme.
I had to reinstall v1.3 on both to make it work.
Please advise ASAP
@choicesnz: I’ve downlaoded and installed the latest version of CyberChimps Responsive theme and it works without any problems on my server. Maybe there’s a conflict with another plugin you’re using. If you could find out which one is causing the problem, I’ll try to fix it.
Please install v 2.0 again and deactivate all other plugins. If it then works, it’s obviously a plugin compatibility issue.
Reactivate all your plugins one by one and test the 404 page at every step. Please let me know which plugin causes the problem.
Regards,
PeterHello there, I have the same issue as well. Using your wonderful plugin with Genesis on http://new.nairandbjorn.com/new
I tried deactivating my plugins and didn’t change my issue.
@smartware.cc I reinstalled 404page v 2.0 deactivated all my plugins except 404page on my http://www.creativechoices.co.nz site, then entered a faulty URL and the redirect did not work – I again got the WordPress default 404 page. So there is no plugin conflict since no other plugins were activated.
I am going to re-install v 1.3 for now, since I know it will work.
I use most of the same plugins on my http://www.freddysayswoof.com site so I do not intend to go through the same process again.
Please n the my second site uses Responsive II theme also called Responsive Mobile. This is also Cyberchimps theme but is not the same as Responsive.
Please advise
Paul@smartware.cc Can you please respond to this matter, I am using an out-of-date plugin. Have you identified the problem yet?
Paul
Probably I’ve found a soultion that works for all combinations. I’m currently testing. A beta version will be available the next few hours.
Finding a method that works for all possible combinations is a tricky task. If the solution I’m currently working on does not solve all the issues with v 2.0, I’ll add an option to manually switch between v 1.x method an v 2.x method.
Peter
The new method works with PageBuilder, bbPress, WPML – but not with the Customizr Theme. I’m going mad. It seems not to be possible to find the “one for all” solution – but I’m still trying…
Thanks for all the work you are dealing with to solve this issue. 🙂
Thanks! Looking forward to your update. !:0)
I could not get it working with the Customizr Theme yet, but I’ve uploaded the current development version for testing. Would you please download and install https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/404page.zip and test this solution?
Regards,
PeterThanks for working hard on this! Unfortunately, this dev build did not work for my site.
Hi Peter, thanks for your efforts, unfortunately the dev build didn’t work for me either. I tested it with other plugins and also with all others deactivated.
Cheers
Paul
