Does this work with category links?

The post I need to re-direct exists inside of a category link of the same name because I wanted to position it in the sidebar (my template puts category links in the sidebar). But I’ve created the post and used the plug-in and it still won’t re-direct. It just goes to the wordpress page when I click on the category link.
