The message “Never published” really means that it was not published on Instagram.
Why it was not published this is another story.
This has to be debugged, to find the reason why in your case.
If you really want to know why it is not publishing, you will have to check the debug checkbox.
And if you still not have any messages, then edit the file wp2instagram.php and search for line 869 to 874 and uncomment the following code

//} catch (Exception $e) {
// $e->getMessage();
// exit();
//}
You will then received all debug informations from the sub component “mpg25” that does all the underlaying connectivty of this plugin with Instagram.

How/where can I see any debug output? I marked the checkbox, but where can I see the output?

@steffen, now in version 1.4.6, when you check the debug checkbox, you will have the instagram respone with error code, in instagram response, in your post on the box “auto post to instagram”. I just updated the plugin and it still does not work, when I update to publish in intagram it says!

The error is now clear, you are not identified by instagram when you try to post from wordpress.

So, since the update, the plugin has stopped working:
v1.4.6 told us we needed to log in. Everything was fine with v1.4.3, literally worked up the the day we upgraded.
Tried going to 1.4.5 – no longer got the login error, but when trying to post we would get the error “post already published.”
Recovered 1.4.3 from a backup, re-installed it, now there’s no error but posts don’t publish.
No security alerts from Instagram and we never had an IP issue unlike others here. One thing is that even when deleting 1.4.6 and installing older versions, settings information is saved. Is there someone beyond the plugins directory info is being story? in the DB?
Really want to get this working again since it was going well of late!
Fix! And as I posted that, realized I needed to comment out the faulty login code in 1.4.3 – working now!
Something is definitely strange with 1.4.6 however.
