Dismiss Messages
-
Latest version, messages in dashboard, great idea, but same issue as last update, they can’t be cancelled. I press the cross icon, they grey out, then reappear. I opened in a an Incognito window and did tried again but still nothing.

What do you see after you clicked the X on the dashboard? Can you share a screenshot please?
Right this moment, all 4 sites (on 2 different servers and different sides of the pond) aren’t accessible or are being very very slow. Once I can get back in I will do a screenshot.
Hi Yoast, can confirm on this one (will try and confirm with a screenshot)
In my example I tried to dismiss the first message. I get the little arrows momentarily as if ‘something’ is happening in the background, then the screen returns to the original state (with a cross to dismiss).
Good improvement with the notification in their own dashboard though. Thanks for listening!
To confirm this is what I get after trying to dismiss. The plugin ‘thinks about it’ whilst looking like this and the reverts back to the original
Hope this helps.
Cheers
Mark
Screenshots are very welcome while our development team is investigating.
Does the problem also occur when Yoast SEO is the only activated plugin? Please be careful trying this on your live website though.
If you have any other information that might help us find the culprit, please reply to this thread.
What Mark is describing and showing is exactly what my sites do. 2 of my sites are test sites, so I will disable all other plugins and see what happens.
That would be great. Thanks a lot dooza!
Here is mine: https://snag.gy/tcm1eJ.jpg
I disabled all plugins and used a default theme, and it still didn’t want to dismiss the messages.
Same here. Can’t dismiss the Connect to Google Search console message.
I’m about done with Yoast. Every update brings more annoying badges and clutter.

If you’re running into this issue, can you please do the following:
* Check for JavaScript errors in the console
* Check for errors in your PHP logs, or ask your host to check that for youThe more information we have, the easier it will be for us to find a solution. Thanks a million for your help!
Only error I see in admin all the time is:
wp-seo-admin-330.min.js?ver=3.3.0:9 Warning: It looks like you’re using a minified copy of the development build of React. When deploying React apps to production, make sure to use the production build which skips development warnings and is faster. See https://fb.me/react-minification for more details.e @ wp-seo-admin-330.min.js?ver=3.3.0:9
No php errors being shown.
Again, I was able to dismiss the what’s new by click on the link instead of the X.
But the Don’t miss your crawl errors remain.

The only error I get in the console is this:
wp-seo-admin-330.min.js?ver=3.3.0:9 Warning: It looks like you’re using a minified copy of the development build of React. When deploying React apps to production, make sure to use the production build which skips development warnings and is faster. See https://fb.me/react-minification for more details.
Nothing is coming up in my error logs.
Ahh yes, if I click the link to see what is new that gets rid of the message.
@ dooza & lancermedia: Thanks for your feedback.
The React message seems unrelated, but is something we will fix.
