You already know that it’s not going to work for many people, and doing this can cause isuses for users that want to right-click for other reasons (forward/back navigation, Send Link, etc).
If someone wants to get one of your photos they’ll get it regardless of what measures you put in there. I’ve sene many places out there claiming that they’ve blocked all image downloads, and there hasn’t been one that’s taken me more then 5 minutes to save the image locally.
The best thing that you can do is watermark your images before you upload them. It won’t stop people from copying them, but it will show the credit to you when they are used somewhere else.
Thank you! We do watermark all our images, however local customer theft is an issue with our online proofing and we’re looking for preventive options. All the same, I really appreciate your help!
If you do not want people copying your content, don’t publish it on the web. There are no other effective safeguards.
