Did 2.5.1 break RSS?
-
I saw some mention of it in the forum but the scenario wasn’t the same as mine. None of my feed urls work anymore since the upgrade.
Thanks

Same here.
Yippe-ki-yeah.
Back to the top.Well, I’ll try again then.
I upgraded to WP 2.5.1. Didn’t post or do anything else.
The feed validates, simply because nothing is going into the feed.
I’ve tried this: If I produce an error on purpose in one of my past posts (I removed a quotation mark from a link text), the validator shows the entire feed as it should look. If I remove the error, the feed validates and the results look like this:
‘<channel>
<title>livingwithmusic.com</title>
<atom:link href=”http://livingwithmusic.com/wp-rss2.php” rel=”self” type=”application/rss+xml” />
<link>http://livingwithmusic.com</link>

</channel>’Now, I’ve read in some old post here that I should maybe try to revert back to the default permalinks structure and then back to my setting. As a newcomer to WP, I’m afraid to do that because I don’t want to break anything.
Up.
Still can’t get it to work.Fixed my issue.
how did you fix it because I am having a HUGH problem getting my rss feed to work at http://www.thecorporatehippie.net
I need to fix it too. Please share your knowledge!
My feed at http://www.RareVictorian.com is broken after the 2.5.1 upgrade. Can a moderator take a peek?
I recently updated version.php and rewrite.php per this post and no luck.
I didn’t really fix my issue, as I have found out by now. But since people contacted me and asked me to return …
I simply exchanged the former rss2 link with http://mysite.com/feed/ as auto-detected by Firefox.
Works for me, so I left it because I’m seriously tired of trying to figure out the myriad of issues with WP 2.5 and 2.5.1 (images won’t upload, visual editor has never worked for me, feeds were broken upon update, I’ve had issues with the “save” function (got “stuck” several times), custom fields won’t stick without resorting to tricks, … the list is endless).
WP 2.5 and up has been a nightmare for me and I’m just trying to keep my blog running until either the issues get fixed for good via an update or until the summer when I have time to switch to another “publishing” (yeah, right) software.
Cheers!
Thanks, deus62.
I redirected some of the feed addresses in my .htaccess and it fixed the problem of broken links.
However, I am very dissapointed with the unsupportiveness of the WordPress team in these forums. Issues like these should be top priority as they mean that the subscribing readers are cut off from the feeds. How can such extraordinary bug be released and then not be fixed asap? I don’t know what to say!
What I’ve learned so far is that WP doesn’t have any bugs.
We users do.
π*sigh* welcome to a brave new world π
