I am trying to move a local copy of a site to a new dev server ( Ubuntu 16.04 ) and I thought that the problem might be that my local mysql is v5.6.xx and the dev server is mysql v5.7.xx but I found a post here to the contrary. Can you tell me what I may need to check on the server to get this running?

I was able to create a package on the production server & get it working without any issues here locally, but the dev server has been another story.

    Thank you!

  • Hi dgfrench,

Your issue may be related to this thread. There is a new option on the installer step 1 advanced section in 1.1.18 that may help you fix it.

Let me know if that helps!

I updated to 1.1.18 on that instance and still ran into the same issue so just did a manual migration. I’m moving these particular sites from a local MAMP setup to Ubuntu 16.04 if that helps narrow down what the issue might be?

From what I could tell on the thread you posted, I don’t need to add the NO_ENGINE_SUBSTITUTION line to my.cnf file because the 1.1.18 update takes care of that?

1.1.18 will only take care of the sql_mode setting if you check the checkbox on step 1 of the installer under advanced options. Did you happen to try it with the check box enabled?
