Deleting Sub-Category

    I have several levels of categories and subcategories on my blog. For example I have some posts assigned to category “Movies” and sub-categories “Action”, “Comedy” etc. If I delete the sub-categories, do the posts automatically get assigned to the main category?

    For example, if i delete the sub-category “Comedy” does a post under “Comedy” automatically get assigned the category “Movies”?

    [edit] Always good to have a test install: yes indeed they are assigned to the parent category.
