• I can no longer delete old post from within the Administration pages. I have to actually delte the post from the database using php admin on my server.

The error I now get is
You don’t have permissions to do that

I can add and update but can’t delete.

I checked the user I am using in my databse and it has full access plust the user I am logged in as is adminsitrator.

    Any Ideas?

  • What version of WordPress?

What’s changed between the time you could do this and now?

Don’t know. Nothing as far as I can tell.
Even new sites I create are having the same problem?

Actually when I upgraded the version

    Version 2.0.5

I shut off al the plugins except for that one and it did nothing.

When I try to delete the default post Hello World I get
You don’t have permission to do that.

OK I found that I can delete items if I actually go in to and edit the item. If I delete it from within the post or page then it works. I can’t delete anything directly from the Manage page.

So if I can’t fix the problem I can live with it this way.

I don’t know if this is a bug or a problem with my instalations. All my installations have the same problem. It can deal with this in other ways but it is just inconvenient

I had the same problem: thanks for the tip, I was going crazy wondering what I was doing wrong.

I’ve managed to get around it by disabling Javascript before I try to delete the post/category/page/whatnot. It’s annoying to keep switching Javascript on and off, but it’s all that has worked for me.
    (Mine happens in 2.1)
