Default website for new users

I am having a problem with new users who register but don’t fill in a website address in their profile. The default is http://, which is nice if you are trying to put a web address behind it. However, I have a bunch of users who now just have http:// as their website. This causes problems when people click on links to their supposed site.

Is there any way to change it so the default is blank?
