• Hi

    WordPress newbie.

Want to change the default theme to make the borders running up and down the page twice as wide and a different colour.

Have managed to change background colour, and the text area colour, but cannot figure out how to do what I want – the page references in the .css file are hashed out and there is no image for it.

I’m sure its simple – help please

    Tony

  • That is made from an image. You would need to either delete the image and make the border with css, or alter the image.

Yes, the default theme is not very newbie-customizing-friendly, nor is it coded very well IMHO. The images are referenced in header.php instead of the stylesheet.

I’d leave the well done default theme alone and either edit your copy of the default or some other theme you find fits your aesthetics.

    Thanks all.

I’ve changed every image, and it does not change what I want.

Therefore either the image I need does not exist, or one that I have changed has not been referenced.

I wont give up on this, so any more tips please

    TIA

    Tony
