Default Shipping Method

    Is it possible to set the default shipping method? Currently the shipping method defaults to Free Shipping, we renamed this to Freight Shipping, with a note stating the customer needs to provide the proper information (orders are processed offline). Since its technically still “Free” it defaults to it. We would rather have the shipping method default to UPS Ground or at the very least have no shipping methods selected by default.

    Now with Shipping Zones we don’t have a default shipping method, the default selected will be always the first one.

    That’s what I thought and since the UPS shipping extension isn’t used within the new Shipping Zones I can’t rearrange them. Do you know of code, or maybe point me in the right direction, that would force UPS options first?

    Not currently possible. UPS will be supporting zones in the near future.
