• this is a tricky one but i thought i would help out anyone else here.

    I enabled Nginx reverse proxy for apache. Basically it serves up static files faster than apache can. It has sped up a lot of my sites but one site in particular was bombing out.

    It happened to be the .htaccess code from ithemes security that was throwing my site to the default apache config page.

    If anyone notices this, delete the htaccess file, go to your wp-admin, rebuild your permalinks and then rerun any settings with ithemes security. that should fix it.
