We’ve got the pro version. We are deactivating the plugin to revamp the events page and we may/may not need to activate it again in the future.

When deactivating or deleting the plugin, the WP Admin menu Appearance > Widgets and Appearance > Menus options disappear. The only way to get them back is to reinstall/reactivate the Modern Events Calendar.

Why is this happening and how can it be fixed? It seems MEC is hijacking the menu items from the WP Admin when deactivating it.

Hi @kimsholl,

This is not MEC issue, it’s a movement issue on WordPress.

For example:
I have a fresh WordPress, without activated plugins: https://i.postimg.cc/6Qjg6MCf/image.png
This is admin widgets on the default WordPress theme (2020):

When I change the theme:

All of the widgets have been missed:

WordPress cannot recognize which widget saved on wich sidebar.
unless as default widgets saved on the sidebar(s) for your theme or plugins and it’s not customary.

So the best solution is yours.
