Thanks for the sample, DayOne is new to me, but looks like a nice system. I’ll get back to you on your questions.
I did find the issue with the image not being added to the post. Turns out that DayOne with not adding the “.jpg” to the filename. This is fixed in the next version of Postie (available shortly).

This would need to be specific to DateOne users. I’ll look into creating an AddOn if this is important to you.
Ohh great to hear that you found the issue.
For me it would be great to have a plugin which does exactly what I want 🙂
Maybe you will have to wait for more users with the same wishes.

Then Postie will use my custom title as the post title.
Having same issue it would say:

It doesn’t sound like you are actually using Postie.
