Custom pages with template tags/php using “pages”?

Hi there,

Is there a way to have a “page” recognize WP tags and PHP code? I’m wanting some custom pages, but I want to run some template tags and php code. I figured I would create a page for it, then insert the code, but apparently it doesn’t work that way. Do I have to make up my own document.php and then link to that instead to truly customize a page?
