    hello
I have an Amazon astore which is not fully displayed due to the sidebar, I gather that I need a full width page to accomodate it and researched how to create a custom page template – I believe I have followed the right steps in doing this and can see the file in file manager in Cpanel which I named ‘page_wise.php’ but I am unable to insert into my wp to actually use, any help would be just great…my website is http://www.secondhandhorsestuff.com. Thank you

  • Did you follow all of the instructions in http://codex.wordpress.org/Pages#Creating_Your_Own_Page_Templates ?

Is your new page template uploaded to your current theme’s folder?

If the answer to both of the above is “Yes”, you should be able to create edit your Amazon page and apply your new page template to it via Admin/Edit Page.

    Hi again
The new page template is not in my current theme’s folder, I am unsure as to why not, I admit to being a complete novice at this (you probably relise that!) I keep going back to file manager in Cpanel to try to upload it into the theme directory, any other suggestions please? its called page_wide.php not wise as I wrote in the op.

    Hi
I started all over again and have created a new custom page template which I now see is in my theme directory BUT its saved it as a txt extension not php,(I used notepad and saved it “all files” and is still not available to use in wp, is there another option with amazon astore display? I have experimented with other themes but the problem remains. Thank you

    Hello
I have some sort of resolution, I changed the file extension to php , made some changes to the code and now have an astore that can be read using a scolling bar, most of this happened by more good luck than judgment, its a huge learning curve, thank you for the help.
