Custom Fields help

Hi I’m new to WP not php, but I’ve been out of the loop for a while and things just aren’t looking right to me. I’m assuming that the Custom Fields input area will display what is entered into them at some place on the blog. I can’t for the life of me make heads or tails out of the support for doing so though. I’d like to make a the fields display lists of things I’m reading, knitting and or crafting. Is there some kind soul out ther that can give me the entire proper code? I know what to do with the code once I get it.
