Custom fields clear after publishing post

Hi. Every time I publish a post and the page refreshes back to the published post, the custom fields I’ve chosen to employ for that particular post disappear. This is not a “Screen Options” issue and I’ve tried with all plugins disabled — the issue persists. Anyone have a similar issue?
