maybe you can customize your background directly in the CSS to face your problem.
Let me know if it s a solution for you.
I have the same issue in a hosted hosted installation, where I do not have access to WP files. I am using the Twenty Thirteen theme and would like to replace the default image with a .png file of my own, by clicking on the “Add new image” button.
This click results with the Choose Image pop-up where I can select the already uploaded image in my Media Library. When I select that image and click on the “Select and Crop” button (lower right corner) the image correctly renders in that pop-up window. However, the only way to dismiss this pop-up (close it) does not result with this image replacing my default image.
It seems that the pop-up window should have a “Save” button??
Nikivancic i think your issue is different then mine .. your issue might be due to Upload folder permissions which can not be solved without getting access to wp files.. i believe you can ask for FTP login access from your hosting provider by which you can get access to wp files..
My issue is different.. i’m using a custom theme that i created.. and i am trying to add custom background image in customizer so my client can change background image as per his wish.
detourdumonde, yes i can make changes in CSS but i want to add Background image option in customizer..
Your assessment seems right Ajay. I appreciate your advice and will do as you say 🙂
Somehow i solved my problem by myself..
