I believe IIRC that there was mention during the contest that Green Marinée was borked in IE. It might take more effort than it’s really worth to fix it….

AAAAaaahhh I guess I didn’t really want to know that.
Any ideas for a really minimalist theme, anyone?
Wouldn’t it have been better to address this problem to the author of the theme? They would be the resident experts on the code they wrote.
You might also “go to school,” or at least ask it in the correct forum:

Thanks Podz, for your help, as always.
Marc, sure, yes, it’s probably appropriate to post to the author, but if I post here then the next person who has a go with Green Marinee and has a problem will possibly see this thread. Which if you hadn’t noticed is sitting inside a category called Themes and Templates.
And you will also notice there is no “CSS thread” and if you search around you will also see that the only themes and Templates supported by WP is their own. All others are developed by outside sources.
If everyone posed their “non-WordPress” questions i.e. CSS or other themes, to the correct authors this forum would be much easier to navigate for those looking for WP supported problems.
at the same time Marc, the forum rads as follows:
Themes and Templates XHTML and CSS
Which part of CSS should he not discuss in this forum? I think his question is perfectly valid. So he hasn’t gone to the author, it’s hardly a castration offence. Ideal solution, yes, but not worth going Poirot on.

Actually castration isn’t even a remote possibility – this guy is a gal!
To sort this out, I’ve had a look at the themes Podz suggested and then gone with Plain Vanilla from Chetan Kunte at http://chetan.ckunte.com/ .
It’s not in its finished state but look OK , thanks for the help everyone.
I said at the outset of the competition that this would happen.
I think the best we can do is say that right now, Green Marineé is broken in IE. If someone wants to try and fix it, wonderful.
Marc – while you have a point, that point has been discussed long and hard. The fact is that people here are willing to answer topics such as Adsense, Javascript, use of Flash, Gallery and many more topics that have nothing whatsoever to do with WP code, but then where is the line drawn ?
PHP that is not in WP code is nothing to do with WP, yet if I started a thread saying I would create a Gallery plugin that would do anything you wanted, I would be swamped – but it would be nothing at all to do with WP.
There is a line to be drawn, but I feel that templates generally don’t fall on the wrong side of that line while those topics I just mentioned (and more) most definitely do. And broken themes ? They will always pop up 🙂
And I agree Podz, and if it wasn’t pointed out very early in this thread that Green Marinée was broken in IE I would not have started down the road I did.
I also remember your correct prediction brfore the theme contest was completed.
