Creating pretty permalinks

    Hi all, ive tried to tidy up my permalinks with no success. I want to get rid of the horrible sequence of numbers that are at the end of the url’s for my blog posts.

    I used permalinks within the settings tab of my wordpress blog but this had no effect. I wondered if this was because I am using Yoast wordpress SEO, I have gone into the permalink tab but i haven’t got a clue what to do or what to tick.

    Please help! For your reference my blog address is http://www.lifestyleblogofathirtysomething.com/

    Yes, ive read that but it does not really answer my question or resolve my problem

    Hi Esmi, if I going into the permalinks tab on the dashboard it makes absolutely no difference to the permalinks of my posts if I tick the post name common setting. I was wondering if this was to do with the fact that I had Yoast SEO,this has its only permalinks tabs. It has loads of options and to be honest the language is all gobbley-de-gook and I don’t want to end up with 404 page breaks.

    I would appreciate any help, I am a novice.

    Have you tried de-activating that plugin?

    Hi Esmi, I do not want to deactivate this plugin as it helps to optimise my blog in the search engines. Any ideas?
