Hello out there… checking in to see if anybody is looking into this or has an idea for me. I see answers to more recent posts. Feeling a bit over-looked ;-0.

Also, I uninstalled and installed the plugin 4 times. Once through ftp just to see if that could shake it loose. No luck.
@phrasewrite – You mentioned “optimizing the database”, what did that entail?
As it is, we’re not seeing this issue ourselves with current versions of NextGEN Gallery and WordPress core so there could be conflict somewhere that has now arisen with another item on your site.
Have you tried deactivating all of your plugins, clearing your browser cache (and site caches if you are using a caching plugin), then reactivating the NextGEN plugin?
If this fixes the problem then it was likely one of the deactivated plugins that was causing an issue. Now, retrace your steps activating each plugin and re-checking to see if the problem returns. If it does then that last activated plugin was probably the one. Keep reactivating and in most cases it is also best to keep checking after each plugin, sometimes there may be more than one plugin on a site that will create an issue. If you do find one (or more) plugins causing this problem we would greatly appreciate your feedback on them so the developers may address them as soon as they can.
Also to note, in rare cases it may be the theme itself that is causing a conflict so while you have just the NextGEN plugin activated you might consider temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress Twenty series themes and see if this corrects the issue as well.
If the problem still persists after all of this we would still want to know, even more so, as we will still want to sort out the issue and may need additional details.

Here’s the order in which I tested.
1. research the heck out of it on the forums 😉
2. delete NextGen through the admin plugins area. Reinstall by auto-download and auto-install. Activate NextGen only and see if error occurs. It does.
3. Deactivate all plugins and switch theme to TwentySixteen. Reactivate NextGen only and see if error persists. It does.
4. Keeping all plugins deactivate,delete NextGen through the admin plugins area. Reinstall by auto-download and auto-install. Activate NextGen only and see if error occurs. It does.
5. Delete NextGen through admin plugins area and reinstall by downloading zip to local computer and upload to site through ftp. Activate NextGen only and see if error occurs. It does.
6. Deactivate NextGen.
7. Reactivate Avada theme, so as to not lose configurations in next step.
8. Clean database through WP database cleanup and optimizer. Optimize database.
9.Reactivate NextGen and test. Problem exists.
10. Reactivate all other plugins and test again for kicks-and-grins. Problem (of course) exists.
And that’s where I am with this. Happy to send to you admin access and ftp.
@phrasewrite – You may need to do a complete clean install of NextGEN Gallery … we have seen some instances where some database “cleaners” and “optimizers” will cause significant problems for NextGEN Gallery.
Try the following to completely remove NextGEN Gallery from your site …
This process will generally work but we recommend you have a complete fully verified back-up of your site just in case you run into any problems:
Use FTP to remove NextGEN Gallery related folders.
Then use something like http://wordpress.org/plugins/wpdbspringclean/ to delete all the ngg tables.
Then use something like http://wordpress.org/plugins/database-peek/ to search through the remaining tables for NGG references.
Then use something like http://wordpress.org/plugins/edit-any-table/ to delete all of these database entries.
Tables typically involved: wp_ngg_*, wp_options, wp_postmeta, and wp_usermeta

No luck. Fresh install into a thoroughly sanitized database. So, I’ll use another gallery for this particular site. But, if you do receive reports of this from others, and find that an update to the NGG plugin solves it, would you message me directly?

@phrasewrite – Thanks for the update … we’ll see what we can do about a notification; you might need to watch the new releases and their changelogs in the meantime.
