creating a 2nd "Insert Gallery" Button

    I am working on a custom theme and I have a need to create a new section like the existing “Insert Gallery” section, but I would need it to be “Insert Slideshow”. Can someone point me in the right direction on how to do that? I am completely new with hooking things into the control panel, so I don’t even know where to begin my research.
